Jeff's birthday was on Friday. As it turned out, it was also Alicia's birth day as well. Can't say that anything interesting happened during the day. I worked from home, because there has been a big wood chipper parked under the window of my office and Steve's office, which is really, really loud. I thought that staying home would give me some peace and quiet. That was true until Karina got upset over something and yelled bloody murder for several minutes. I'm really glad that we don't have a child that yells hysterically. At one point, it was so loud that I had to see what the heck was going on. Alicia had Henry and Karina in their high chairs. I guess Karina was mad that Alicia was feeding Henry and not paying attention to her. I wonder how parents of twins do it. Henry wasn't phased, which was good.
Alicia wanted to know when we planned to get rid of the bottle. Karina's pediatrician wants her to get off the bottle. Alicia doesn't think it would work to have one child on bottle and one child on cup. Karina is a month older than Henry's adjusted age and hasn't had the extreme background that Henry has had when it comes to feeding. Frankly, Henry is finally doing so well on his milk intake that I have no plans to rock the boat. Henry drinks water for cups and glasses at meal time. That's enough for now.
Shirley (PT) visited us in the afternoon with lots of gadgets to try. She had some things for him to push around. She thinks that Henry has all of the physical elements in place for walking, but he lacks the confidence. I agree. I've thought that for some time. We showed her how Henry can walk around the house when Jeff and I take his hands and he walks in-between us. He can do that for long distances and go up and down steps without hesitation. He had been doing chin ups on the side of the playpen before Shirley arrived. He is getting his chin well past that railing. She had Jeff and I sit a couple feet apart and then take turns extending our arms out to him. He liked that.
We had planned to go to an evening Sidewinders game and sit on the grass at the rim of the outfield, but a lightening stormed moved into town in the late afternoon. That put a kabash on our plans. We stayed in, had Mexican takeout, and played on the floor.
On Saturday morning, we went to the Tucson Mall and played in the kids' area before the stores opened up. It was nice. The children there were toddlers. A couple taller kids showed up later, but they were well-behaved (not set on running the little ones down). Henry enjoyed watching the big boys climb on the various structures.

In the afternoon, we went to Grandma and Grandpa's house. While we were there. Henry figured out how to cross one side of the crib to the other without having to go around the whole railing. Jeff went to the store and hit golf balls. I stayed at my parents' house and worked in their studio. My parents, Henry, and I went swimming in the late afternoon.
In the evening, Henry had some left over chicken and played in the living room. We've been having a lot of fun with Henry making noises. Yesterday, he did a lot of roaring and making Tasmanian Devil sounds. He went to bed early, meaning 8:30PM. Jeff and I actually got a chance to watch a movie together ("I Am Legend"), which we haven't done from the comfort of our own living room in a long, long time.
Henry and Jeff are now over at my parents' house. I'm unfortunately feeling under the weather today, so I figured it was best to stay home.
Here is Henry making his Roar noise this morning...
Doesn't get much cuter than that!
