Kiss Me!

Henry and Miss R have been quite the cute little pair lately. Yesterday, they were being a little pushy with each other, both trying to get between the couch and the bench. Henry ended up hugging miss R. Then Miss R gave Henry a kiss on the forehead. They both smiled. Then Henry said "Miss R, Miss R, kiss me again." She did and they smiled. Henry reached toward her and said "Kiss me, kiss me Miss R." Wish I had the camera.

This morning as Henry ate his breakfast he pointed to the flashlight near the sink and said "flashlight!" So I gave it to him. He then started shining it around the room and as he pointed it to the ceiling he said "Up in the sky" and as he pointed it at me he said "On daddy's shirt." Then he started to bang it on his tray table. I gave him a stern warning telling him to be nice to the flashlight. He proceeded to pull the flashlight to him and say "Hugging the flashlight." That was very nice indeed.

Henry saw Shirley, his physical therapist, for the first time in months yesterday. She didn't see anything to be concerned about. We pointed out that is still toe walking quite a bit. She checked his ankles to see if they were tight but they were OK. She tried to get him to jump but he still keeps one foot down. She brought a toy broom and he demonstrated how he can sweep. He also showed off his golfing skills. Since he is doing well, we're only going to see her quarterly from now on.

Today we picked up the kids from daycare and went to see Poppy. He needed some help on the computer and Grammy is out of town. As we were leaving the daycare building, Henry ran ahead, climbed up on a bench and looked in the baby room and said "Watch the babies." Then he ran down the hall farther and went into the director's office and said "I'm in the office." Dang cute.

After that we headed to dinner at Red Robin at the Tucson Mall. The kids ate well and had fun. Miss R couldn't get enough of the dried apples and strawberries we brought with us. She has been surprising me with her food choices lately. She would never eat fruit or vegetables at first. Yesterday she had second helpings of green beans and mandarin oranges. Today she had second helpings of strawberry/banana sauce at breakfast and then the dried fruit at dinner. I think daycare has a lot to do with it.

During dinner Henry and Miss R took time out to get their groove on. An "artist formerly known as Prince" song came on and Miss R started pumping her hands in the air in kind of a "raise the roof" motion. Henry then copied her. So she likes outlaw country and Prince, rather eclectic.

After dinner we went to the children's play area in the mall. Miss R really wasn't interested. She hugged a big teddy bear for a while and played a little but wasn't very active. Her teachers at school had mentioned she wasn't herself today and had some diarrhea so she may be coming down with the next wave of sickness. Henry had a great time. He kept Poppy on his toes moving from one activity to the next. At one point he got away from Poppy who then looked a bit panicked for about 10 seconds until he found Henry again. Henry's favorite thing was to slide down things and sing out "All fall down!" like the ring around the rosie song. He had pulled his sunglasses out of the diaper bag in the restaurant and kept them on during almost the entire time in the play area. He used to hate wearing sunglasses and hats. Now he is pretty good with both. Miss R zonked out in the car on the way home. Henry stayed up to read some Spongebob books. He may not know his Grimms fairy tales but he knows all about Spongebob, Squidword, and Patrick Star. I personally am sick of Spongebob and the Princess, which is his favorite.

Tomorrow is their daycare's end of summer party and water day so they get to play in the water and have fun food. We may put off their dentist appointment so they can enjoy the day.
