The Bucket Meltdown

My parents took care of the kids for a couple hours in the late afternoon/early evening yesterday. One of the teachers said that Henry "may" be moving classrooms (to the "older" twos). We were just getting used to the idea of him and Miss R being in the same class. When Jeff picked the kids up, Henry wanted to listen to the 80s CD. We have two of them in the car. Jeff put the wrong one in at first, but Henry corrected him and got to listen to the music he wanted.

Henry had a major meltdown last night b/c Jeff wouldn't let him sleep with his pumpkin bucket on his head. He made Henry put the bucket next to the bed. This resulted in sobs and sobs over the bucket. Jeff says that Henry is already acting like a teenager. Eating a lot and acting moody.

I took the kids to daycare this morning. Henry and Miss R disagreed over which CD to listen to. Henry finally agreed to Mamma Mia! Miss R wanted to hear the "Money, Money" song from the Mamma Mia! CD "again" and "again."

She was fine in the car but then very sullen when I took her to Miss Kristen. But she didn't cry. Then I dropped off Henry. He wasn't as bad as yesterday, but he still clung to me tightly. As he pretty much ignores me at home, I enjoyed the huge hugs. Every time I'd put him down, he'd look up at me and say "Hold your baby." Luckily, I'm working from home today and didn't have to shuffle out the door right away and managed to get at least five great hugs.

Jeff just returned from the child-family team (CFT) meeting. The bio parents were a no-show. One of Miss R's older siblings had some things to discuss in private with the caseworker, so the meeting was very short as pertaining to Miss R. Apparently her mom did give a couple more names as possible placements. I just hope that the system works and that the judge really considers what is best for Miss R. I'm trying not to let my anxiety overwhelm me. Not easy.
