Around noon, Miss R's lawyer called wanting to see her in the afternoon as the court hearing is on Monday. I think that he is supposed to see clients between court hearings. But we had already planned for my parents to see the kids and I am on yet another crazy deadline, so Jeff said that we couldn't do it. He told the lawyer that we could meet Saturday or Sunday. The lawyer "may" call but is probably going to be busy. Seriously, how about calling a week in advance and making an appointment?!?
Again, I'm frustrated b/c I want to make sure that Miss R is truly represented and this just doesn't feel right. And the fact that La Frontera still hasn't called totally irks me.
Jeff picked up the kids in the afternoon and went over to my parents. The report from school was that Miss R will be in Henry's current class starting next week. She was moved over to the class at 4PM, and Jeff arrived after 4:30PM. I don't quite get why they didn't do more transition during the day when kids were actually there. I guess there were only four kids in the class at 4PM. The teacher (not one of the regulars) said that Henry was a bit possessive of Miss R when it came to the other kids. He also got a lot more talkative, active, and refused to follow directions (as Jeff said, "That's the Henry we know."). He and Miss R played by themselves instead of with the other kids. At my parents, Jeff played with the kids to give me some breathing room here to work. They played, watched movies, and had dinner.
Henry came home and reported that he'd watched "Your Not Elected, Charlie Brown." He really likes Peanuts. At Miss R's request, we sat outside for a little bit and watched "the spider." She too thinks its "scary." Then it was time for medicine for Henry and fiber gummy bears for them both. Teeth brushing followed. Henry enjoyed going to sleep in a laundry basket.
