On Sunday, I got the kids ready to go to the birthday party at Grammy and Poppy's house as Jeff walked the dogs. As I tried to get the kids ready, Henry ended up in the front hall closet lifting 1 lb weights up and down. He told me, "I'm exercising." I'm not sure where he picked that up as Jeff and I haven't exercised in front of him (other than our failed yoga attempt last month).
Henry and Miss R were in delightful form. Aunt Carolyn, Aunt Erin, Uncle Brian, my Aunt Gloria, and my parents were there. Baby A pretty much slept the entire time. Miss R gorged herself on almonds. Hopefully, she'll eat them if we buy them for her. I had no idea she liked nuts.
Henry and Miss R did the "Maniac!" dance and song for everyone. At one point, Henry was running around with the Bumbo on his head. It reminded me of a scene from Parenthood (1989):
Karen: [referring to Justin, the toddler] He likes to butt things with his head.
Nathan: How proud you must be.
Henry and Miss R enjoyed the cake. I'm always surprised when Henry actually eats something that's sweet. It was a dark chocolate flavor, so perhaps that helped.
On Monday morning, Jeff asked Henry what was on his shirt. His shirt was red and said "Arizona" on it. Henry said, "I'm a wildcat! I have big muscles!"
The other cute thing that Henry did this morning was sing, "Oh Daddy, you're so fine, you're so fine, you blow my mind, hey Daddy, hey Daddy" (complete with claps). I often sing the "Hey Mickey" song to the kids (taking turns inserting Henry and Miss R's names in lieu of Mickey).
The drop off at school was uneventful. Came back home and wore Baby A around the house in a sling while catching up on email.
