On Wednesday, Jeff, Henry, and I went to the airport to pick up Grandpa Joe. Henry gave Grandpa Joe a huge smile but wouldn't say his name even though he said it 30 seconds before seeing Grandpa Joe. He was being shy.
We had dinner at Rocco's pizza. Henry was pretty good about sitting in his chair but then wanted to explore the parking lot. I walked around with him for a little bit b/c in his words, he wanted to "take a walk." When the pizza arrived, Henry liked it. He said "pizza, pizza." Jeff gave him a piece with cheese that stayed in his mouth awhile. I think that the texture was weird for him b/c when he tried to swallow, his oral aversion seemed to kick in and he vomited all over the ground. Luckily, we were seated outdoors so it wasn't a huge deal and the staff were exceedingly nice about cleaning it up. I took Henry to the bathroom. The sink was short, and he liked washing his hands ("wash hands"). When we went back to the table, Henry wanted more food. I gave him crust with no cheese, and he kept it down just fine. He enjoyed it. It was after all excellent pizza.
342. Pizza
We took Grandpa Joe down to Green Valley. He is staying with his sister Joyce and brother-in-law Bob. Henry ran around their living room, pushed buttons on the VCR, and demanded the remote. He parroted everything that was said. When we left, he gave Aunt Joyce, Uncle Bob, and Grandpa Joe big hugs. It was dark when we left. He fell asleep on the way home.
When we returned home, it was no problem putting him to bed. He was exhausted. Jeff and I edited our tax return information and printed it off. Then, Jeff headed to the post office to get it in the mail. When Jeff returned home, Henry heard him come in. He popped his head up, cried out for Daddy, then hurled himself over the side of the bed in rapid speed (nearly crashing into the wall of the fire place in our room) and then ran out to the kitchen to find Daddy. Such a Daddy's boy.
Today, Henry will be getting his first hair cut. He was an appointment with Todd after Grammy gets her hair cut.
