The First Day of School

We got up this morning at 6:30AM. Not a problem getting Henry out of bed. He gets up whenever Jeff gets up. But it took 10 minutes for Jeff to get Miss R out of bed. She takes after me in the sleep department.

At 8AM, we arrived at Children's Learning Adventure for their first day of "school." Suree, the director, had us drop off Miss R with her class first. They were playing outside. Her teacher is Josie; another teacher was scheduled to arrive at 8:30AM. Miss R was hesitant, and she cried for me, but it wasn't too bad. She calmed down fairly quickly.

Then we dropped off Henry at his class room. He marched in the room and checked things out right away. He tried out several chairs. LuLu is his teacher. He showed her his shoes. He almost pushed a kid who was 4 inches taller than he and probably weighs 7 lbs more than he does. I told Henry that it was an especially bad idea to mess with those who were bigger than him. Geez. Let's just not push anyone. We went to the car to get his belongings (diapers, wipes, blanket, crib sheets). After we dropped off their supplies, we said goodbye to Henry and he said he wanted to "go home." That was sad. Another teacher named Stephanie arrived as we were leaving.

Our big boy and big girl are now at daycare. We hope they like it. Jeff and I will both be picking them up at 3PM. In the future, I get to be Ms. Drop Off, while Jeff gets to be Mr. Pick Up. I think that Jeff gets the better end of that deal.
