Thursday, Day 4 of Kids Sick Week. Low grade fevers. Runny noses. Coughs. I had a meeting near school, so Jeff took care of the kids for two hours. Henry and Miss R have had the opportunity in recent days to watch Dora the Explorer and Diego. They, especially Henry, seem to like the shows. The shows require some interaction from the audience and seem to try to teach...a bit different from Sponge Bob Square Pants.
Miss R convinced me that she wanted to snuggle at nap time, so I napped with her on my bed. That was nice.
We've kept the kids quiet with lots of TV. They're happy. Quiet as they should be when recovering from illness.
Miss R hasn't been eating much, which concerns us a little. Henry did OK at dinner. Miss R had one bite too many of mac'n'cheese and was about to throw it up. Henry the Copy Cat had a bite in his mouth at the same time and decided to spit it out all over the plate so he could compete with Miss R on the gag reflex front.
The day was quite gloomy outside. Winds were blowing rapidly this morning. We're getting the storms from California. Currently, there's a tornado watch in our area. There's a thunderstorm moving across the county with 80 mile hour winds. While Jeff was putting down the shutters, we had a blackout. Miss R freaked out. We'd just put the kids down for the night. I tripped over the toys in the living room as I made my way to their bedroom. Jeff came to the rescue with flashlights. Then, Henry had a severe coughing fit. I think that he was choking on his drainage. Tomorrow is supposed to be rainy. I'm hoping that we'll have some sunny skies and good health some time in the near future.
