The Z-O-O

This morning, we decided to go to Joel's for breakfast b/c we didn't have eggs in the house for pancakes. As we got ready, I had the following conversation:

KATE TO JEFF: Do you want to walk around the UofA after breakfast, or go to the p-a-r-k, or to the z-o-o?
HENRY: I want to go to the Z-O-O! The Z-O-O!
JEFF TO HENRY: What's at the z-o-o?
HENRY: The animals!

We were a bit flabbergasted. We sometimes spell out words so that Henry doesn't latch onto them. Park being the one most often spelled. I'm certain that I've never spelled out zoo in Henry's presence.

Henry said and did the sign language for "I Love You, Mommy!" and "I Love You, Daddy!" Miss R soon followed. Nice to start off the morning with so much love in the car!

We had a nice breakfast at Joel's. Then, we headed to Reid Park for some playtime on the slides. Henry, of course, climbed up a ladder that probably wasn't age appropriate and headed down the biggest slide he could find (two stories). Miss R stayed on the smaller equipment, working on her confidence with those gross motor skills. She was very cute. She yelled out "R did it!" after climbing up any step or sliding down a slide.

Henry's cough is becoming more pronounced. Once home, we gave him an albuterol treatment before naptime. He informed me: "I took my medicine!"
