Apparently, Henry has been telling everyone at school that he is going to Disneyland. I told Miss Stephanie that we may go this weekend, if we can managed to stay healthy that long. She said that he's been talking about it a lot. We had been thinking about leaving on Wednesday night, but Jeff and I have a lot of work to catch up on, so that's tentatively been revised to Friday night. We stayed up past 4AM last night getting things done.
This afternoon, Jeff took Henry to his eye appointment with Dr. Banuelos. I stayed home in case the appointment lasted an hour and a half like last time. Miss R had her sibling visitation, projected to return around 5:30PM. Jeff called at 4:30PM to say that the waiting room was empty and they saw Dr. Banuelos right away. She didn't notice any changes in his vision (thank goodness) and was pleased that he actually wears his glasses. His glasses got twisted up again at school however. We are going to look into getting him titanium frames.
Jeff came home with Henry after the appointment and stopped by the famed In-N-Out Burger for the first time. That left me free to run errands, knowing that Jeff would return before Miss R got back.
Miss R was hilarious when I got home. We were in the train room and she'd done something so I pouted like she does and stuck out my bottom lip. She sternly told me "No crying, Mommy! No crying!" (complete with finger waving at me).
Miss R LOVED her In-N-Out burger. She even relished the lettuce and tomato on it. Henry was a bit more picky. Dinner took over an hour. Miss R did extremely well. Henry didn't do poorly, but it took a lot of coaxing. Miss R was also a huge fan of my orange jello, which made Henry gag when he tried it.
Miss R had another break through on the potty. She went number two and number one, which means that she's officially a "big girl." Henry, on the other hand, who we know "can" use the potty (he does it at school), insisted that he wanted to go in his diaper. He knew exactly what he was doing. Why is the diaper preferred at home? Henry only knows. I've told him that he doesn't get to move up to Miss Casi's class until he gets potty trained, but I don't think that he's really listening. I wouldn't be surprised if Miss R potty trains quickly and gets moved up before he does. Miss Casi's class doesn't have a diaper changing station, I believe. So Henry has to be out of diapers for the move. It's frustrating knowing that it isn't a matter of him being able to control his bodily functions. It is a matter of him wanting to control his actions and our reactions. Sigh.
The kids had a bath with bubbles, which they enjoyed. Henry told us the story of Lady and the Tramp (at least the part about the rat).
We danced in the living room for awhile. And at 9PM, we took the kids to bed after teeth brushing (Miss R loves the new princess toothpaste). It is now 10:45PM and Henry is still singing to himself. Where does his energy come from? And how can we contain it?!?
