"So what's your problem?"

On Sunday, Henry woke me up. He came bounding into our bed, but said he likes his "big boy bed" b/c it has "SpongeBob and Patrick!" on it. The kids seemed pretty good health-wise this morning. Henry still has a little cough, but Miss R sounded clear. Hopefully, the cold has run its course. I think that its just a matter of clearing the lungs. I don't think that Henry's had a fever at all through this whole thing.

We took the kids to the Foothills Mall b/c we had to get some items. We started off at Barnes & Noble. Henry showed Jeff where the Thomas the Tank Engine set up was on the second floor. Jeff watched Henry and Miss R while I procured gift certificates for my sister's birthday gift. We knew exactly what we were getting her, which was nice. Her birthday was a couple weeks ago, but tonight was the family get-together. Jeff then took the kids to the play area. They rode on some 75 cent rides and went down the slide. We then took them to lunch at World Sports Grille. We sat outside on the patio. Then, it was time to head to Trader Joe's, which Henry had been asking about for weeks. The kids got balloons at TJ's, which made them happy. I think that Jeff and I sounded better today, but we are both dragging quite a bit. The kids' exuberance in our present state was wearing us out.

The kids took a nap when they came home. When they woke up, we got ready to go to dinner at Grammy and Poppy's house. We were celebrating Erin's and Grammy's birthdays. Our family party was a little smaller than usual as one of our uncles is not in a good health position to catch a cold at the moment. Erin and Brian were willing to take the risk though.

After dinner, Henry and Miss R spent time driving their vehicles off my parents' landing that leads into the living room. It's a half-step. Henry enjoyed propelling his car (gift from Carolyn last year) off the landing and getting it stuck so that the front was on the living room carpet but the back end was on the landing. He'd then shout "I'm stuck in the muck!" Miss R copied him and drove her bike off the landing. They'd then get off their vehicles, pick them up and put them on top of the landing, and repeat the cycle.

Henry decided to play the piano. He asked me to move the stool into position. I did. Miss R wanted a "seat" but there was only the one stool. So Henry moved to one side of the stool, patted the other side with his hand, and said "Here R!" Lots of cute pictures. Wish I could post them (darn foster care privacy rules!).

All of us sat in the living room for awhile and talked. At one point, Henry was swinging a child-sized broom around. I was looking at him. He then looked at me and said "So what's your problem?" I didn't realize that I had one...other than having a very cheeky son, that is.

We came home and brushed the kids' teeth. Jeff put Henry to bed while I used the nebulizer on Miss R. She was very good. It's so much easier when she's half asleep.
