Dr. Henry and Dr. R

On Tuesday afternoon, Jeff picked up Henry and took him to a new eye glass place. Henry discovered the kids' area with wire toys. He walked over to the area, said "Hi!" to the kids sitting at the table, and sat down. He's quite the shrinking violet when it comes to meeting people! Jeff said that the person who helped them told them to make themselves at home. Henry took that advice to heart and rearranged some of the furniture. Jeff and Henry picked out two new pairs of glasses with the bendy frames. It will take a week or two to get them back.

Then, Jeff took Henry to Sunflower. When they arrived in the parking lot, Jeff told Henry that they were at the grocery store. Henry said, "Sunflower!" This surprises me a bit b/c Henry only been there twice before and I don't recall ever saying the store's name in front of him. While in the produce section, Henry made a woman laugh by being enthusiastic over "Asparagus!"

Jeff and Henry arrived back home just a few minutes before Miss R did. She'd had a sibling visit. Unfortunately, they sent her home with candy. She smelled like she'd been infused with it. That frustrates me b/c I've told the supervisor about Miss R's problematic teeth. The child has eight cavities. She doesn't need sugar!!!

I broke out a Christmas present from Aunt Carolyn: a "medical kit." Miss R and Henry pretended that they were doctors. They took each other's temperature with the thermometer. The toy blood pressure cup was a big hit as was the stethoscope. While Jeff took the dogs for a walk, the kids operated on me.

At dinner, Henry ate fairly well. I had to encourage Henry to eat his macroni and hamburger b/c he seemed pretty content just forking bites of ketchup initially. Henry sang some verses from his favorite "Totally 80s" CD. Miss R did not eat so well. Perhaps it was the candy. Grrrr.

Henry did a little walking on the treadmill. Then, we gave the kids a bath. We let them play a little bit with the medical kit afterward, but then it was time for bed.
