Walking with Dinosaurs, Arena Spectacular

On Saturday, Jeff let the kids watch The Land Before Time 3, which Aunt Jennifer and his cousin had gotten him and Miss R over the summer when we visited Oregon. I had suggested it to Jeff in preparation for our big plans for the evening.

I picked up Chinese food on the way home from my parents' house. The kids ate some rice and some battered chicken. Henry also had a couple bites of broccoli. Their eating, however, wasn't stellar. They ate their fortunate cookies and shared a small cup of tapiocca pudding.

Then, we headed to the TCC for Walking with Dinosaurs, Arena Spectacular. I picked up the tickets at will-call while Jeff parked the car. The traffic had been backed up so we cut it close. Jeff had to run with the kids in tow. Henry and Miss R told him to run faster.

The show was absolutely perfect for the kids. We had wondered whether Miss R in particular would get scared. We wondered whether Henry would get overstimulated (a la Elmo Live!). The show kept the kids entertained. The dinosaur costumes/mechanics were captivating. Miss R sat on my lap for the first half of the show. For the second half, she sat in her seat so that she could have access to the large bag of kettle corn on Henry's lap (it was about as big as he was). The kids enjoyed the second half. The big hit was the finale with the t-rex and t-rex baby. Miss R clapped. I gave her a kiss on her cheek and she told it was "yucky." After we bought some souvenirs, Henry enjoyed stomping in puddles on the way back to the car. The kids made a lot of roaring sounds on the way home.

When we got home, Henry played with his birthday dinosaur made by Jamie and Miss R played with Littlefoot (present from Aunt Jennifer and her cousins).

He decided that it would be fun to ride his dinosaur down the slide...

The kids did not get to sleep until about 10:45PM. It didn't take too long for them to crash.
