The kids were excited to "Go to Valentine's Day!" which meant that they were having all-day parties in their classes at school. I went over to my parents' house and worked for awhile. I then picked up the kids at 2:30PM...earlier than usual but we had a scheduled visit with Christy, our case worker from St. Nick's, at 3PM. Miss R was still asleep when I arrived. Apparently, she'd only been sleeping an hour.
Henry and Miss R were delightful during Christy's visit. They both had snack plates from school, which kept them entertained. I asked Christy the likelihood of the case being switched from us as the adoptive placement to a blood relative at the last minute. She said that it was small. She said it was CPS' job to figure out who the best placement would be. Then, St. Nick's tries to facilitate that decision. CPS identified us as the best placement.
After Christy's visit, Jeff took Jackson to the vets for his water treatment. I stayed with the kids, and we played. We attempted to watch G-Force, but it didn't captivate any of us. We had dinner. Then, we visited my parents briefly.
The kids had a good time. Jeff felt that they did better than he would have expected. Henry enjoyed laying on the ground in front of our seats and under them (thank goodness it was relatively clean), dangling from the rails in front of us, and cheering/shouting whenever everyone else went quiet. Miss R enjoyed sitting on our laps. Jeff bought the kids a hot dog during the second half, which entertained them. Henry announced 20 minutes before the end of the game that he had to go potty. We decided not to believe him.
Then, we came home.
